in Input, please handle old firmware versions

my nomad e device is old. i ended up installing input to customize a key, but the current version of input broke the device, and input didn’t know how to fix it. community showed me how to use the reset buttons on the hardware. at minimum, it’d be nice to see these reset instructions in-app. at best, it would be nice to gracefully handle this so that no one ever loses their macro data. this experience is convincing me that i shouldn’t be relying on hardware macros.

Link Profile to Application

Have been using the CM2 in my work for a number of months now and absolutely love it. One feature I wish could be implemented however would be the option to link specific profiles to certain applications (the same as the link layer to application feature but instead links a whole profile). I use the CM2 Mostly for accessing custom macros in 3d modelling software. As the 3d software has both a Modelling and Drawing environment I have assigned each environment a layer meaning I can simply flick between using the layer switching sensor. The issue is that I also regularly use a few other programs which I have / would like to set up similar profiles (particularly affinity 1 layer for pixel, 1 for vector and one for layout). I’m aware that I could have these all in the same profile and switching would work automatically, however that means I would have to flick through multiple layers for different programs just to access the select few relevant to that program. If there was instead an option to link whole profiles to specific applications then whilst I was using that software only layers relevant to that specific application would be available in the accessible layers (meaning no unnecessary sifting through layers to find the ones you want). I already have this setup manually (I have assigned a key to switch between profiles) however considering the linking program already exists it would be amazing if this variation could also be implemented. Feedback regarding order communication and shipping transparency.

I placed an order over 2 months ago and paid for shipping. After multiple follow-ups, I was informed that the shipment had to be reassigned due to delivery to Hawaii. While I was eventually provided with updated tracking information, the package has experienced significant delays and has now shown no movement for over a week. My suggestion is to improve communication when shipping issues arise. Proactive updates, estimated delivery timelines, and timely responses to customer inquiries would go a long way toward improving the customer experience. I enjoy the products and understand that shipping delays can happen, but the lack of clear communication has been the most frustrating part of the process. Thank you for considering this feedback.

Add a macOS / Apple Keyboard preset for native Mac function keys

I’d like to request a dedicated macOS / Apple Keyboard preset in Input. Instead of only adding a few individual shortcuts, it would be very helpful if Knob1 could support a more complete set of macOS-native system keys and function-row actions, so it can behave more consistently with a native Mac keyboard. For example: Globe / Fn Spotlight Search Do Not Disturb … Some of these actions can be recreated with custom shortcuts or third-party tools, but having them built directly into Input as official macOS actions would make the experience much easier, cleaner, and more reliable for Mac users.

Wrk.mat is cool but then its not.

I certainly love the idea of making the mat desk mat size. My only gripe is the actual size of it. I wish it was little bit larger. Currently the mat size is 80×30cm. I wish it was 90×40 or even 100×50. Even the desk mats I buy from websites such as kinetic labs from where I usually buy my desk mats from are 90×40. So I certainly do hope that yall make one that is larger! I work on electronics and this is an amazing product. -Just wish it was a little larger. 🫡 🤙

XYZ r2 - struggling with input & non-qwerty

Hi, the kb is looking nice but I’m encountering a problem to set it up correctly. My mac is an azerty one so naturally I tried to set up my kb in Input with an azerty profile, but then it outputs qwerty mapping. If I leave it in qwerty in Input I get azerty output but miss out on features as I can’t guess what every map does when it clashes with my mac base kb layout (some actions works, others don’t, number and special characters are a mess). Any thoughts on how to handle that ?

Add permissive hold functionality to input

I’ve noticed some pretty weird interactions when using home row mods on my xyz board that make it pretty unusable for me right now unfortunately. I have shift mapped to a multiaction on ‘d’ when i hold it, but if i type ‘da’ and press a down before i release the d key, it will send ‘ad’. At a very minimum, i think the default functionality here would be to send ‘da’ if both keystrokes happen within the tapping term, but even more useful functionality would be permissive hold, which would respect the hold multiaction even if it all happens within the tapping term, as long as the ‘a’ keystroke down and ‘a’ keystroke up all happen while ‘d’ is held down. a more in depth breakdown of this behavior can be found here https://docs.qmk.fm/tap_hold, but i haven’t found a way to make a 40% board usable at any real speed without having some parity with this feature
